Shaib Y. Rios, Esq. is the founding shareholder and owner of S.Y. RIOS LAW. She is originally from the West Coast and moved to Pembroke Pines with her family when she was young, making South Florida “home.” Shaib was a Boulevard Heights Beaver, Apollo Rocket, and Hallandale Charger before earning her B.A. from the University of Florida as a Florida Gator. To pay for law school, Shaib worked for 2 years at a mechanical contractor’s firm before entering Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to attend law school.

After graduating from law school and passing the Florida Bar, Shaib was honored to accept a judicial clerkship at the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in West Palm Beach, FL. There she served as a staff attorney and clerk to the judiciary. The experience of working side-by-side with judges at the outset of her legal career gave Shaib a unique insight into the practice of law and underscored many of the core values she has applied to her practice since.

Following her clerkship, Shaib entered private practice. She practiced commercial litigation in Miami, before joining an appellate firm in Boca Raton, FL. It is here where Shaib focused her practice and honed her appellate writing and oral advocacy skills. Shaib’s extensive appellate experience led her to an opportunity at a national law firm where she built and led their Appellate Division. It was at this national firm where Shaib further honed her litigation and trial skills, refined her appellate advocacy, and also cultivated her experience in law firm operations and employee management as a Managing Partner. After 13 years at the firm, Shaib took the leap of faith in pursuit of her dream to start her own law practice.

Shaib is passionate about empowering people through education and solution-centered legal representation. It is why her featured practice area of Estate & Legacy Planning was a natural pivot. Shaib is committed to educating clients from all walks of life on the importance and long term value of effective and comprehensive estate planning. Shaib is particularly committed to community outreach and providing traditionally underrepresented and vulnerable populations with access to quality legal representation.
